Senior Accountant

Location: On-site in Portland, Oregon. Relocation assistance is available to facilitate a move to Portland if needed.

Salary: $125,000–$180,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own and support accounts payable, procure-to-pay, and month-end close workflows.
• Manage vendor onboarding, vendor records, invoice intake, bill entry, approval routing, payment preparation, and payment follow-up.
• Maintain accurate financial data in NetSuite, including transaction coding, reporting inputs, and process documentation.
• Support reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, account analysis, and supporting schedules.
• Partner with finance, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, vendors, and external accounting partners to establish consistent accounting treatment.
• Improve repetitive and error-prone workflows through process redesign, automation, AI tools, spreadsheet improvements, workflow software, or ERP configuration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, accounting operations, accounts payable, general ledger, or related finance operations.
• Strong accounting fundamentals and familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with accounts payable, vendor onboarding, payment processing, invoice coding, and month-end close support.
• Ability to book journal entries and escalate complex accounting questions appropriately.
• Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system, plus strong Excel and financial-data skills.
• Strong communication, judgment, accuracy, confidentiality, responsiveness, and ownership in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

• NetSuite experience, CPA or CPA-track background, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in a startup, manufacturing, hardware, energy, infrastructure, or project-based environment.
• Experience improving or documenting accounting processes and supporting audit, tax, compliance, or technical accounting requests.
• Experience with procure-to-pay workflows, payment systems, expense management tools, or ERP implementations.
