Senior Mechanical Engineer (Consumer Electronics)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design and stack-up development for next-generation portable consumer electronics, from concept sketches through mass production.
• Translate industrial designs into production-ready Mechanical Master CAD using PTC Creo top-down workflows.
• Own mechanical development, design validation, prototyping, testing, documentation, and production readiness.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments, feasibility studies, and design-of-experiments activities.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, UX, Electrical Engineering, Software, QA, Program Management, and Manufacturing teams.
• Resolve technical challenges involving materials, manufacturability, cost optimization, performance, reliability, standards, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in consumer electronics.
• Experience designing mechanical stack-ups for smartphones, tablets, laptops, or telecom devices.
• Expert proficiency in PTC Creo and top-down design methodologies.
• Knowledge of reliability testing and failure analysis, including HALT and ORT.
• Knowledge of injection molding, die casting, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, DOE, DFM, DFA, and cost optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL.
• Experience developing IPX-8 waterproofing solutions using mechanical or chemical coating approaches.
