Process Support Engineer (Inline 3D X-ray)

Location: Shanghai, China; travel to customer fabs, additional customer sites, and company headquarters in California is required. Relocation is not available.

What you will do

• Provide on-site technical support for inline 3D X-ray inspection tools at semiconductor customer facilities.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, computer-system, and process-performance issues using systematic diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and optimize process parameters, inspection workflows, and process-integration solutions for Advanced Packaging applications.
• Support hardware qualification, tool bring-up, new feature deployment, and tool sign-off negotiations with customers.
• Analyze experimental data statistically, conduct Design of Experiments, and prepare technical conclusions and reports.
• Collaborate with customers, remote engineering and service teams, sales, management, and business-unit stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in physics, materials science or engineering, chemistry, electrical/electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in semiconductor fabs, semiconductor equipment, capital equipment, or a related technical environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service, and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage moderately complex projects, and operate under pressure.
• Comfort working in Linux and Windows environments and willingness to travel to customer sites and California headquarters.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in a related field.
• Experience with X-ray technology, synchrotron instrumentation, photon-based techniques, semiconductor process tools, fab environments, or metrology.
• Familiarity with Python, EPICS or similar distributed control systems, JMP, SPC, MATLAB, Mathematica, and Design of Experiments.
