BI Lead Data Engineering

Location: On-site in Crystal City, Arlington, VA; U.S. work location

Salary: $105,800–$196,700 per year

What you will do

• Lead BI analysts and developers through technical direction, mentorship, and performance oversight.
• Define and execute the BI strategy, roadmap, standards, and technical direction for the program.
• Design, develop, and maintain BI dashboards, reports, data models, and performance metrics.
• Gather and prioritize BI requirements with stakeholders and present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior government stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and accurate data mapping across BI deliverables.
• Execute ETL processes and data preparation while improving BI reporting through AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of business intelligence experience and 3 years of team leadership experience.
• Experience with ETL tools such as AB Initio and relational databases, preferably Oracle RDBMS 19c.
• Experience with dashboard, data visualization, and reporting tools, preferably Power BI, Visio, OBIA/OAP, OAS, and OBIEE.
• Demonstrated expertise in BI leadership, data strategy, team management, stakeholder communication, and technical oversight.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain one.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification or an equivalent BI certification.
• Experience with Kibana, Kafka, GoAnywhere, Oracle Data Guard, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or similar enterprise BI platforms.
• Experience leading BI teams supporting Department of Defense or federal agency programs.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL pipeline design.
