Claims Specialist (Maritime)

What you will do

• Investigate, analyze, and manage claims involving vessel speed, fuel consumption, and performance under charter party terms.
• Interpret charter party clauses and support performance reports, claim recovery, defense, and dispute resolution with relevant case law.
• Review vessel performance data against contractual obligations and commercial benchmarks.
• Engage with customers, charterers, and owners on technical disputes and performance claims.
• Support product development and testing for in-house performance monitoring tools.
• Prepare technical reports and collaborate with Product, Commercial, and Legal stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience handling time charter party and vessel performance claims.
• Marine education, such as Marine Engineering or Deck Officer studies, with strong technical and legal understanding of charter party claims.
• Hands-on experience analyzing vessel speed, fuel consumption, and commercial performance benchmarks.
• Strong report-writing, data analysis, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with BI tools, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience with maritime legal claims handling and disputes.
• LLB or LLM degree.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and improving operational processes.
