Claims Consultant - Management Specialty Lines

Location: New York City, New York; hybrid schedule with at least two days per week in the Battery Park Plaza office. Fully remote may be considered for the right candidate.

Salary: $108,000–$200,000 national range; expected starting range of $108,000–$162,000.

What you will do

• Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, damages, reserves, and settlement strategies for complex management liability and specialty claims.
• Handle litigated and non-litigated claims involving errors and omissions, directors and officers, employment practices liability, cyber, and related lines.
• Negotiate claims through successful resolution while delivering effective service to insureds, agents, legal counsel, and customers.
• Provide claims trend and loss-development feedback to business partners and underwriters.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance regulations, court decisions, policy changes, and applicable claims guidelines.
• Coach and mentor team members and serve as a subject matter authority in a specific line of business.

Requirements

• More than five years of relevant claims-handling experience, including complex or high-severity claims and litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and manage complex coverage issues.
• In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry and claims-related legal and regulatory environments.
• Excellent analytical, written, verbal, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to direct attorneys in claims and litigation management and present information to senior leaders, claimants, and customers.
• Required federal and/or state licenses and registrations must be obtained within the designated timeframe.

Nice to have

• Juris Doctorate and college degree.
• Prior experience with cyber, EPL, D&O liability, E&O, or professional negligence claims.
