Senior CNC Programmer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Penrose, Colorado, with a transition to Pueblo, Colorado. Applicants must be U.S. Persons eligible to obtain required export authorizations.

Salary: $35.00–$46.00 per hour base salary.

What you will do

• Create efficient SolidWorks CAM programs for complex 5-axis milling and mill-turn operations, including toolpath optimization, machine model verification, collision detection, and cycle time analysis.
• Design fixtures, workholding, and production tooling in SolidWorks for precision machining of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium.
• Program, set up, and operate Y-axis live-tooling lathes, validating probe routines and multi-axis synchronization.
• Execute true 5-axis strategies with gouge checking, material-removal simulation, and optimized toolpaths for tight tolerances.
• Develop manufacturing processes from engineering drawing to finished part, troubleshooting programs and ensuring first-part success.
• Build machine models and custom control files while supporting the transition to automation-capable and lights-out manufacturing.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 5 years of CNC machining and programming experience, an associate degree with 3 years of experience, or 8 years of hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks CAM, including 5-axis milling, mill-turn operations, machine model building, and custom control file development.
• Experience machining Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel to tight tolerances.
• Hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating Y-axis live-tooling lathes and multi-axis turning centers.
• Ability to pass an FBI/DoD background check and obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR and U.S. export regulations.

• Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ITAR requirements, automation, and lights-out manufacturing systems.
