Vice President, Engines Thesis (UAV)

Location: United States; must be based at one of hirify.global’s existing sites and travel frequently (30%+) to geographically dispersed engine locations.

Salary: $200,007–$333,345 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Develop a five-year strategic plan for the Engines Thesis and define a roadmap for sustainable growth.
• Build and target the dual-use UAV engine market across military, commercial, and adjacent applications.
• Define required technology and manufacturing capabilities, including integration across the value chain.
• Direct R&D investment decisions involving propulsion technologies, novel materials, automation, and innovative manufacturing processes.
• Support acquisition planning by evaluating target capabilities, customer relationships, and integration feasibility.
• Build the Engines Thesis organization, recruit a multidisciplinary team, manage P&L and budgets, and present progress to the CEO and Board.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• More than 15 years of progressive leadership experience in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, propulsion systems, or related sectors.
• Experience with P&L responsibility, budgets, financial plans, complex technology projects, and business development.
• Strong knowledge of UAV technology, engine systems, manufacturing processes, supply chains, and regulatory environments is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to be based at a hirify.global site in the United States and travel 30% or more.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or MS in Engineering.
• Experience with internal-combustion or hybrid UAV engines and dual-use technologies.
• Ability to thrive in entrepreneurial environments and navigate ambiguity.
