Senior Packaging and Product Compliance Specialist

Location: San Diego, United States; hybrid home/office workplace

Salary: $84,014–$112,017 annual base pay, plus eligibility for an annual corporate bonus.

What you will do

• Monitor U.S. and Canadian environmental packaging laws and regulations, assess business impact, and communicate changes to internal stakeholders.
• Represent hirify.global’s perspectives through trade associations and industry platforms.
• Develop and implement compliance assurance programs for packaging, printed materials, chemical restrictions, labeling, and recycled content requirements.
• Manage compliance registrations, reporting, data validation, and compliance fee and cost processes with headquarters and business group teams.
• Identify packaging cost-reduction and sustainability opportunities in support of hirify.global’s Road to Zero environmental plan.
• Review locally planned projects and provide subject-matter expertise on packaging and printed material EPR.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental product compliance, environmental stewardship, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, compliance risks, and their impact on business operations.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, data analysis, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience in the electronics industry.
• Familiarity with local, national, and international packaging and chemical regulations.
• Experience developing solutions to environmental compliance challenges.
• Experience with Power BI, SAP, BW, or Smartsheet.
