Sr. Manager, Software Engineering (Payments)

Location: Dallas, TX, hybrid

Salary: USD 180,000–200,000 yearly

What you will do

• Lead an agile payments engineering team responsible for the end-to-end payments platform.
• Optimize and scale Stripe-based payment infrastructure following the migration from Vantiv.
• Design and maintain secure, fault-tolerant services for high-volume financial transactions, subscriptions, and payouts.
• Integrate payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and P2P payments while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, and architecture stakeholders to deliver technically sound and financially reliable solutions.
• Drive event-driven modernization, engineering best practices, observability, on-call operations, SLAs, and incident management.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional engineering experience and 3+ years leading an engineering team.
• Deep experience building and scaling payment platforms, including Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, ACH, gateway integrations, and legacy payment migrations.
• Strong knowledge of payment security, PCI-DSS compliance, and high-volume transaction architectures.
• Experience managing a high-performing engineering team, delivering large-scale consumer systems, and developing engineering talent.
• Experience with Java or Golang and a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
• Hybrid work in Dallas, TX is required.
