Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Security)

Location: Remote, with the role listed in San Francisco and Seattle; catered lunches are available at the Pittsburgh office. Visa sponsorship is available for exceptional candidates.

Salary: $175,000–$220,000 annually, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade software solutions directly in customer environments.
• Integrate the AI security platform with customer systems, APIs, data pipelines, and runtime environments.
• Translate ambiguous enterprise requirements into proofs of concept, deployment plans, and production architectures.
• Own customer deployments end to end, identifying and resolving issues across diverse environments.
• Build backend services, integrations, and tooling for secure and reliable deployments.
• Partner with customer engineering, security, platform, sales, product, and core engineering teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software systems.
• Strong backend or full-stack engineering experience with APIs, services, and integrations.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with at least one backend or systems language such as Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with data pipelines, event-driven systems, or service-oriented architectures, plus security fundamentals including authentication, authorization, monitoring, and secure system design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying or integrating enterprise software into customer environments.
• Background in security, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with AI systems, ML-enabled products, or AI security concepts.
• Experience in forward-deployed engineering, technical consulting, technical pre-sales, or customer-facing engineering.
