Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Remote - Canada

Salary: CA$150K–CA$180K annual base salary, plus discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead back-end projects across Python and Node.js/Go services hosted on Kubernetes.
• Build Generative AI workflows and deployment systems.
• Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines powering AI/ML workflows and model deployments.
• Design and consume REST, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs with attention to performance, scale, and resiliency.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for AI/ML-enabled features and communicate technical solutions to leadership.
• Mentor engineers and lead complex cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of back-end software engineering experience delivering scalable, high-performance systems.
• Strong Python experience; familiarity with TypeScript and/or Java.
• Strong experience with microservices architecture on Kubernetes.
• Database design and performance tuning across SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent applied ML experience.
• Knowledge of MLOps, model deployment and monitoring, back-end security, authentication and authorization, OAuth, JWT, and Agile delivery.

Nice to have

• AWS cloud infrastructure and operations experience.
• Data streaming or event-driven processing with Kafka or Spark.
• LLM or agentic AI development pipeline experience.
• Cybersecurity, IoT, or NLP domain experience.
