Principal Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote in the United States

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 base salary per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

hirify.global develops an agentic threat hunting platform that uses AI to autonomously investigate security telemetry, identify malicious behaviors, and generate behavior-based detections.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable pipelines ingesting and processing terabytes of security telemetry per day.
• Own API and event-stream integrations for EDR, IAM, cloud, and SaaS data sources.
• Co-own the data ingestion, transformation, and search layers powering agentic threat hunting workflows.
• Lead cross-functional projects and guide architectural changes for latency, reliability, performance, cost, and scalability.
• Develop AI-agent solutions for data mapping, entity correlation, and anomaly detection baselines.
• Set engineering standards for observability, monitoring, automated testing, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems for customer-facing products.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Rust, or a similar programming language.
• Hands-on experience designing large-scale event-streaming systems such as Kafka.
• Experience with search or analytics products operating over large datasets.
• Strong systems thinking and understanding of performance, cost, and complexity trade-offs.
• Experience with AWS or GCP and the ability to adapt, iterate, and ship quickly.
