Application Engineer (AI)

hirify.global is an AI startup building the intelligence layer for video, enabling machines to understand video across sight, sound, and motion.

What you will do

• Unify internal data and evaluation platforms into a single maintainable system.
• Build a secure access layer for petabyte-scale data across cloud environments.
• Integrate customer usage data to ground datasets and evaluations in real-world behavior.
• Develop and harden internal agentic tools for content curation and context retrieval.
• Own the full lifecycle of internal products from scoping to shipping and support.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco (Hybrid role).
• Strong backend engineering experience in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Proven track record of building and shipping zero-to-one internal products.
• Genuine system design instinct with the ability to make architectural decisions.
• Experience working with large unstructured datasets and cloud-based data platforms.
• Full-stack capability with a backend-focused center of gravity.

Nice to have

• Experience with data governance, access control, or PII handling.
• Background in building or integrating AI agents, MCP servers, or retrieval systems.
• Familiarity with multimodal unstructured data such as video, audio, or images.
