Facilities Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: San Leandro, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $46.30–$69.42 USD per hour, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Install air, power, and network drops throughout the facility.
• Troubleshoot and repair building equipment, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
• Manage critical spares and preventive maintenance programs for equipment.
• Build and support small-scale experiments, mechanical assemblies, steel weldments, sensor installations, and control panels.
• Set up the manufacturing site by installing equipment, facilities, and storage while maintaining clean, safe, and organized workspaces through 5S principles.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers while complying with ISO, state, federal, and company safety requirements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a hands-on technician.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex electromechanical systems.
• Working experience with plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, machining, and fabrication.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
• Extensive experience operating forklifts and using hand and power tools.
• Startup experience with rapidly changing priorities and scope.

Nice to have

• Lead or supervisory experience.
• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience setting up a new manufacturing facility in a startup environment.
• Experience with lathe, mill, CNC, drill press, CAD software, technical drawings, and schematics.
