Senior Staff Manufacturing Test Development Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States. Travel of up to 15% is required, including international travel. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $134,399.06–$184,798.70 annually.

What you will do

• Architect, design, document, and deploy test equipment and software for supplier, in-house, and system-level production.
• Lead outsourced test-development strategy and manage delivery of turnkey test solutions for new and sustaining robot platforms.
• Partner with design, software, quality, and manufacturing teams to apply design-for-test practices, improve test coverage, and isolate faults.
• Plan functional-test capacity and expansion across ODM and JDM manufacturing sites.
• Analyze test data and perform hands-on root-cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems.
• Deploy, maintain, duplicate, and support test stations while training and mentoring engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline, plus 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing test software with Python in Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong electromechanical and software engineering fundamentals, including the use of digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Experience selecting commercial test hardware or designing custom hardware for manufacturing requirements.
• Experience deploying and supporting test systems at domestic and international contract manufacturing sites.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply analog and digital test and debugging techniques to medium- and high-complexity systems.

Nice to have

• Altium or equivalent schematic-capture and PCB-layout experience, plus knowledge of circuit-board manufacturing DfX practices.
• CAD experience designing moderate-complexity electromechanical structures using Catia, NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools.
• Ability to interpret or write C++ code and experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or PLM systems such as Arena.
