Prototype Workshop Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States; onsite workshop role

Salary: $30–$45 per hour USD

hirify.global develops the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric aircraft with a 30-passenger capacity, a 200 km electric zero-emission range, and a 400 km extended hybrid range.

What you will do

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components for prototypes and test rigs.
• Wire, solder, crimp, and integrate electrical systems and harnesses.
• Perform basic machining, 3D printing, cutting, drilling, and fastening.
• Collaborate with engineers to build, test, and iterate functional prototypes.
• Set up and maintain workshop infrastructure, tools, safety systems, inventory, equipment, and consumable supplies.
• Provide design-for-manufacturability and assembly feedback to multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

• Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical prototype assembly.
• Practical experience with hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in an R&D, aerospace, automotive, or startup environment.
• Experience with CAD tools and fabrication techniques such as CNC, welding, or additive manufacturing.
• Familiarity with test instrumentation, DAQ systems, or low-voltage electronics.
