Sr Manager, Data Factory Operation

Annual salary: $180,000–$200,000 USD, depending on experience, plus benefits and incentive plans.

What you will do

• Lead centralized and decentralized data production pipelines supporting Embodied AI model training.
• Direct the design, renovation, and operation of physical data collection environments, including retail, light manufacturing, and industrial production scenarios.
• Manage global contributors, contractors, robots, hardware resources, multi-shift operations, and high-throughput collection programs.
• Develop and enforce data collection SOPs, teleoperation instructions, sensor calibration procedures, quality standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Supervise data screening, filtering, clipping, preprocessing, and preliminary acceptance before client submission.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support, coordinate with engineering and client delivery teams, and improve processes based on feedback and model performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in robotics, computer science, engineering, data science, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in large-scale operations, robotics data collection, AI/ML data operations, manufacturing operations, or related areas.
• Strong knowledge of Embodied AI, robotics systems, VR teleoperation, RGB/RGB-D cameras, IMUs, LiDAR, edge computing, and multimodal data collection.
• Experience scaling geographically distributed operations with large device fleets, multiple shifts, vendors, contractors, and operational budgets.
• Experience establishing SOPs, quality control processes, dataset acceptance workflows, synchronization checks, calibration procedures, and data integrity standards.
• Understanding of GDPR/CCPA, PII handling, anonymization, and privacy compliance is required. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with MCAP, HDF5, synthetic data, simulation environments, or robotics benchmarking.
• Experience with humanoid robots, autonomous mobile robots, or Embodied AI training datasets.
• Experience managing global crowdsourcing or contributor networks for AI data collection.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, warehouse automation, cloud data infrastructure, data pipelines, or MLOps.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or related operations and project management certification.
