Senior Mechanical Maintenance Lead (Nuclear)

Location: Orangeville, Utah. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. persons eligible to access HALEU material and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $95,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own and maintain the facility maintenance program, including procedures, work instructions, preventive maintenance schedules, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead, mentor, schedule, and evaluate maintenance technicians while assigning work orders and verifying completion.
• Act as the facility mechanical authority for engineering changes, maintenance requests, safety-component modifications, and configuration management.
• Plan maintenance shutdowns, commissioning maintenance procedures, and mechanical-system acceptance testing.
• Drive equipment reliability through failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective actions, maintenance KPIs, and critical spare-parts management.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Radiation Protection, and Nuclear Safety teams, including work in radiologically controlled areas under ALARA principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or an Associate degree with equivalent senior-level trade experience.
• 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least 3 years leading or supervising maintenance work in a nuclear, chemical process, or advanced manufacturing facility.
• Experience developing and managing formal Preventive Maintenance programs in a CMMS such as Maximo or SAP PM.
• Strong mechanical expertise with rotating equipment, high-temperature furnaces, gas systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and structural integrity assessment.
• Ability to read and author P&IDs, instrument loop diagrams, mechanical arrangement drawings, and maintenance procedures.
• Experience with DOE- or NRC-regulated facilities and proven experience leading maintenance technicians. U.S. citizenship or U.S.-person eligibility for HALEU access is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with CVD furnaces, chemical vapor deposition systems, or high-temperature gas-phase process equipment.
• Professional Engineer registration or equivalent mechanical engineering registration.
• Experience with RCA, Reliability-Centered Maintenance, nuclear maintenance qualification, or radiological worker training.
• Experience with TRISO or advanced nuclear fuel fabrication equipment and uranium processing contamination controls.
• Experience preparing maintenance program descriptions for regulatory submittals and presenting technical status to leadership or regulators.
