Operations Technician (Nuclear Energy)

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and maintain basic lathes, manual mills, CNC machines, laser cutters, and welding equipment.
• Fabricate, assemble, and modify components and fixtures from technical drawings, prototypes, and engineering instructions.
• Handle and prepare materials by cutting, measuring, loading, and transporting stock for machining and assembly.
• Maintain shop cleanliness, tool organization, and adherence to safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting, coordinating major repairs with facilities staff.
• Collaborate with engineers and shop leadership to refine prototypes, improve manufacturability, and meet aggressive project timelines.

Requirements

• Reliability, a strong bias toward action, and a team-oriented approach.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices; additional training will be provided as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or general labor.
• Familiarity with basic CAD software or shop-floor interfaces.
• Commercial Driver's License.
