Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States
Salary: $24.75–$38.50 per hour, depending on Technician I or Technician II level; equity offered.

is a Series C startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe nuclear microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.
What you will do
- Build, assemble, operate, and maintain test rigs, fixtures, and support equipment for R1 reactor components and subsystems.
- Integrate thermocouples, pressure transducers, strain gauges, flow meters, relays, solenoid valves, wiring, and data acquisition systems.
- Execute tests according to established procedures and document configurations, results, anomalies, calibrations, and operator observations.
- Fabricate brackets, mount points, plumbing, wiring harnesses, and mechanical components using hand tools, shop tools, and light fabrication methods.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation problems and support failure investigations with inspections and data collection.
- Maintain test areas, equipment, tools, safety systems, and inventories of test components and consumables.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of hands-on experience as a test, engineering, lab, or similar technician.
- Experience assembling mechanical systems, test fixtures, or prototype hardware and integrating instrumentation.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and basic test software.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, hand-tool and shop-tool experience, and ability to work safely around high-energy systems and heavy equipment.
- Must meet U.S. Government export-control requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
Nice to have
- Experience with plumbing systems, tubing, valves, fittings, brazing, and leak checking.
- Electrical wiring, harness building, relays, control panels, or hardware-debugging experience.
- Inspection tools, CAD viewers, welding, machining, fabrication, or Python scripting experience.
- Experience building and operating test rigs in an R&D, prototype, or fast-paced hardware development environment.
