Sr. Site Development Engineer

Location: San Francisco, United States; work is on-site.

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 base annually, plus equity; final compensation depends on experience, location, and other factors.

What you will do

• Lead greenfield site development from site selection and feasibility through detailed engineering and construction execution.
• Develop site layouts covering grading, drainage, stormwater management, access roads, utility corridors, and external infrastructure tie-ins.
• Design and review earthwork plans, cut/fill balancing, mass grading strategies, and site civil infrastructure systems.
• Manage external engineering firms, consultants, and contractors and oversee issued-for-construction packages.
• Coordinate with structural, process, mechanical, and electrical teams to deliver integrated site designs.
• Support constructability reviews, cost estimation, scheduling, permitting, regulatory approvals, and field engineering during construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of site development and civil engineering experience on industrial, mining, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering greenfield capital projects from concept through construction.
• Strong expertise in site grading, drainage, earthwork optimization, stormwater management, roadway design, underground utilities, and geotechnical constraints.
• Civil 3D proficiency is required; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is expected.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one within six months is preferred, along with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.

Nice to have

• Experience in industrial manufacturing, mining or mineral processing, chemical or process facilities, or EPC environments.
