Company

hirify.global is an independent nonprofit research institute combining frontier AI models, biological foundation models, massive compute, and advanced laboratory capabilities to accelerate scientific discovery and disease research.

What you will do

  • Maintain, seed, harvest, and engineer human iPSC and mammalian cell lines for proteomics and imaging workflows.
  • Design and optimize sample-preparation workflows for proximity labeling, immunoprecipitation, crosslinking mass spectrometry, cryoET, and CLEM.
  • Prepare vitrified cellular samples using plunge freezing and high-pressure freezing.
  • Perform cryo FIB milling on vitrified samples using FIB-SEM instruments.
  • Assist with cryoET data collection, tomogram reconstruction, visualization, and basic image or data processing.
  • Improve assay throughput, reliability, and scalability while documenting protocols, results, sample tracking, and reagent inventory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in an RA I position or four years of relevant post-graduate research experience.
  • Experience maintaining mammalian or human pluripotent stem cell lines, including sterile technique, culture best practices, and quality control.
  • Experience with light or fluorescence microscopy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills across complex experimental workflows.
  • Adaptability, self-motivation, and enthusiasm for learning cross-disciplinary research techniques.

Nice to have

  • Immunoprecipitation, western blotting, and proteomics sample-preparation experience.
  • Proximity labeling experience with TurboID, BioID, or APEX.
  • CRISPR-based genome editing, including sgRNA and donor design.
  • Cryogenic sample preparation, electron microscopy, cryoET, or FIB-SEM experience.
  • Protein structure prediction or coding in Python or R for omics analysis and image or data processing.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative, fast-paced environment bringing together engineers, data scientists, and biomedical researchers.
  • Work at the interface of proteomics, cellular biology, genome engineering, and advanced imaging.
  • Employer match on employee 401(k) contributions.
  • Paid time off for volunteering and funding for select family-forming benefits.
  • Relocation support is available for employees who need assistance moving.
