Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; work from home on Wednesdays

Compensation: $160K–$180K per year plus equity

What you will do

• Collaborate with product leaders to identify customer problems, scope requirements, and implement solutions.
• Build and maintain full-stack product features and systems end to end.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance across product systems.
• Develop observability and metrics for smooth operation, proactive issue detection, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor teammates, and help shape engineering practices.
• Support engineering-team growth through recruiting, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to ramp quickly on TypeScript, React, Next, Node, Apollo GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Interest in large language models and building systems that support and leverage them.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and deliver results.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for building intuitive, intelligent, and reliable customer-facing products.
