Senior Mechanical Engineer (Fusion Energy)

Salary: $156,500–$234,800 USD annually base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design innovative mechanical components and systems for complex fusion-energy engineering challenges.
• Lead design changes, system improvements, and the validation of mechanical designs.
• Perform structural mechanical analysis and apply FEA and/or CFD.
• Work with vendors and manufacturers to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
• Coordinate mechanical integration with electrical, software, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Lead design reviews, documentation, specifications, risk assessments, and mitigation planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Advanced CAD knowledge; Creo is preferred.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics.
• Proven experience developing and launching mechanical designs, including hands-on laboratory work and rapid iteration.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability, plus the ability to mentor junior engineers and communicate effectively.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
