Team Lead, DevX Kubernetes Platform as a Service (Kubernetes/AWS)

Location: Flexible hybrid model; in-person interviews may be required for positions based in the Boston and Dublin offices.

Salary: $154,000–$193,000 USD annual base salary / OTE.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day DevX PaaS team operations, including 1:1s, sprint ceremonies, quarterly capacity planning, and prioritization.
• Coach engineers, allocate growth-oriented work, and support end-to-end ownership of major initiatives.
• Design, build, and operate a reliable, secure Kubernetes platform on AWS EKS across multiple environments and regions.
• Lead Kubernetes, Rancher, and platform add-on upgrades using ArgoCD and HCP Terraform.
• Drive autoscaling, cost and performance optimization, service discovery, eventual service mesh adoption, and Gateway API migration.
• Advance AI-assisted cluster maintenance and developer support while improving alerting, runbooks, and on-call operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, or acting as a technical or team lead.
• Deep experience operating production Kubernetes/EKS workloads at scale, including containerization and cloud environments.
• Strong Go or equivalent systems programming skills.
• Fluency with AWS networking, IAM, load balancing, storage, and platform guardrails.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, GitHub-based workflows, CI/CD automation, observability, SRE practices, and incident response.
• Experience with security-by-default practices, policy-as-code, least privilege, image/runtime controls, and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes controller/operator patterns.
