Electrical Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; some travel to US sites.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Perform electrical load calculations and design power distribution systems for commercial, infrastructure, and data center projects.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports, one-lines, and coordinated design models for UPS systems, emergency and standby generators, and low- and medium-voltage switchgear.
• Conduct short-circuit, selective coordination, and arc-flash studies using SKM, ETAP, or equivalent software.
• Design standby and emergency power systems, including generator and paralleling configurations.
• Perform field surveys and site assessments to verify existing conditions and support design development.
• Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, site visits, contractor coordination, and collaboration with clients and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in electrical load calculations, AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM, ETAP, or equivalent software.
• Experience developing specifications for UPS systems, emergency and standby generators, and low- and medium-voltage switchgear.
• Experience with short-circuit, selective coordination, arc-flash, generator, and paralleling system studies and designs.
• Extensive field survey and construction administration experience; ability to supervise staff engineers and designers.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, commercial facilities, and data center design.
