Senior Electrical Technician (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Gardena, California. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorization.

What you will do

• Build, test, and troubleshoot early-stage electronic prototypes from preliminary schematics, engineering concepts, and evolving bills of materials.
• Support volume production by validating assembly and test procedures, resolving build issues, and creating continuous-improvement feedback loops.
• Perform fine-pitch crimping, wiring harness construction, cable and connector assembly, and component-level rework.
• Operate and maintain oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, microscopes, and specialized rework equipment.
• Provide Design for Manufacturability and Design for Testability feedback to engineering teams.
• Document assembly methods, test results, and rework actions while mentoring junior technicians and supporting production training.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electronics prototyping, rework, and production support.
• Experience with fine-pitch crimping and miniature connector assembly.
• Ability to interpret incomplete schematics, early-stage bills of materials, and evolving designs while resolving documentation gaps.
• Strong understanding of electronics assembly, ESD procedures, component-level troubleshooting, and IPC standards.
• Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements for work on U.S.-regulated aerospace and defense products.

Nice to have

• Experience reviewing schematics and PCB layouts using CAD viewers such as Altium or OrCAD.
• Familiarity with engineering change control and product lifecycle management tools.
• Experience in regulated industries such as medical, aerospace, or automotive.
• Experience reworking fine-pitch surface-mount components, including 0201, QFN, BGA, and micro-BGA packages.
