TL;DR
Senior Vehicle Integration and Test Technician (Aerospace): Building, integrating, and testing Neutron launch vehicle mechanical, fluid, and avionics systems with an accent on assembly procedures, hands-on technician leadership, and troubleshooting. Focus on developing test workflows, installing aerospace flight components, solving unforeseen integration issues, and improving workstation and tooling efficiency.

Location: Wallops Island, Virginia, United States. The role requires work in production, equipment, and field environments, with flexibility for extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts.

Base pay: $30–$40 per hour for Virginia positions.

hirify.global is an aerospace company developing rockets, spacecraft, and critical spaceflight subsystems, including the reusable Neutron launch vehicle.

What you will do

  • Create, implement, and document Neutron assembly and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with system Responsible Engineers and system owners on vehicle integration activities.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to technicians during assembly and testing.
  • Lead training on industry standards and best practices for aerospace flight component installation and testing.
  • Troubleshoot unforeseen issues and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Help specify technician workstations and tooling, and support integration activities with teams in Baltimore, Long Beach, Stennis Space Center, and Auckland.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of assembly and/or test experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire 8+ hour shift, climb ladders, work at elevated heights and in confined or awkward spaces, and perform repetitive physical motions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • For US office roles, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required: US citizenship, lawful US permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Launch vehicle fluid systems assembly and testing, including pneumatic, cryogenic, and electrical systems.
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, precision cleaning, component disassembly and assembly, and system testing.
  • Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, power tools, and torque wrenches.
  • Cleanroom work, ISO cleanliness standards, tube fabrication, mechanical assembly, avionics installation, and harness routing.
