Engineer, Chassis Wheel Guidance (Front and Rear Control Arms) (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, or Novi, Michigan, United States; requires 4-5 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel.

Salary: $110,000-$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Develop suspension structural components and chassis solutions for high-performance off-road vehicles.
• Design chassis and drive-system integration for electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs.
• Apply knowledge of castings, weldments, forgings, component packaging, and metal-formed products.
• Review technical systems and propose improvements to chassis components and functions.
• Create drive-system packaging and testing strategies in collaboration with other engineering teams.
• Coordinate prototype and serial development, including part availability, test planning, and part releases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Engineering Technology.
• 4+ years of experience in chassis concept engineering or serial production development, including platforms, variants, module selection, and modification.
• Experience with CAD tools, chassis component packaging, part design, requirements management, system integration, and manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Advanced project steering and coordination skills, with the ability to independently manage a defined chassis part scope.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Motivation to work on electric vehicle technical design and hands-on testing.
