Test Specialist (Instrumentation)

Pay range: $40.00–$70.00 per hour

What you will do

• Set up and execute hardware tests across development, qualification, and acceptance campaigns.
• Own data acquisition systems, test stands, and test assets, maintaining a safe, clean, calibrated, and testing-ready facility.
• Support engineering teams with instrumentation strategy, DAQ implementation, and design-for-test practices.
• Perform root cause investigations and drive engineering issues to resolution.
• Author and maintain Python, LabVIEW, and TwinCAT scripts for test execution and results analysis.
• Update test documentation, standards, and processes in collaboration with engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with test setups or technician support in fast-paced technical environments.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to make recommendations using first-principles reasoning and trade studies.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems, including load cells, pressure transducers, thermocouples, and deflection transducers.
• Ability to maintain instrumentation calibrations and read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Ability to stand, lift, and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted, and work required shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Nice to have

• Light fabrication experience, including welding, machining, sheet metal work, drilling, milling, and lathe work.
• Experience fabricating and repairing cable harnesses through soldering, crimping, and connector assembly.
• Strong documentation practices for testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
