Instrumentation & Controls Technician (Nuclear Energy): Installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for advanced nuclear energy facilities with an accent on PLCs, SCADA integration, transmitters, signal loops, and control valves. Focus on performing loop checks, supporting commissioning, executing preventive and corrective maintenance, and solving instrumentation issues in a highly regulated environment.
Location: Orangeville, Utah, onsite. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

What you will do
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot 120V–480V AC electrical systems and motor control circuits, including VFDs, contactors, relays, and overloads.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Wire and diagnose PLC I/O and support SCADA integration tasks using PLC software and SCADA interfaces.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain transmitters, control valves, I/P converters, thermocouples, and RTDs.
- Configure and troubleshoot HART and 4–20mA analog signal loops, perform loop checks, and assist with system commissioning.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, lockout/tagout procedures, emergency repairs, documentation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Maintenance.
- 3+ years of industrial electrical or instrumentation experience.
- Familiarity with NEC, ISA standards, and NFPA 70.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and control system theory with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is required for work authorization.
Nice to have
- Experience with nuclear construction, NQA-1, DOE, oil and gas, ASME-related construction, or similarly regulated technical programs.
- Multidisciplinary construction quality experience across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation activities.
- Experience with subcontractor coordination or auditing, nonconformance systems, turnover packages, traceability, controlled work execution, and field verification.
- Familiarity with field measurement systems and technical verification workflows.
- Strong operational judgment when making technically defensible decisions under ambiguity and schedule pressure.
