Sr. Data Governance Lead

Location: Westminster, CO or Lake Oswego, OR, with 4 days in office; travel up to 10%

Salary: $144,600–$198,800 per year; bonus eligible

What you will do

• Establish and scale a federated enterprise data governance operating model, maturity frameworks, playbooks, onboarding, certifications, and operating cadences.
• Engage executive domain owners and operationalize the Enterprise Data Governance Council through business value metrics.
• Translate data policies into automated pipeline controls covering classification, lifecycle retention, schemas, data contracts, and governance gates.
• Define data quality standards, operationalize observability, and certify Gold-tier data assets.
• Drive enterprise catalog adoption, metadata curation, and end-to-end data lineage across systems.
• Partner with AI Governance, Legal, Privacy, Information Security, GRC, Cloud Platform, and IT teams to enable trusted, compliant data for AI models, RAG pipelines, and agent frameworks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise data management, including 7+ years leading data governance practices in distributed, federated environments.
• Experience establishing operational governance practices, steward enablement networks, and executive steering bodies.
• Ability to translate policies into automated pipeline controls, quality gates, and data contracts.
• Technical fluency with Snowflake, Atlan, Monte Carlo, and dbt.
• Strong cross-functional leadership with direct, concise, and metric-driven communication.
• Ability to work from Westminster, Colorado or Lake Oswego, Oregon, four days per week in the office.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing data trust inputs to AI Governance or AI Safety frameworks.
• Experience with Data Mesh, Data-as-a-Product, or Master Data Management tools such as Reltio.
• Global enterprise experience across AMER, EMEA, and APAC.
• Experience with DCAM, CDMP, or DAMA-DMBOK v2 frameworks.
