Sr. Data Steward (Data Governance)

Location: Washington, United States; working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time.

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design and implement data governance and data quality solutions aligned with business objectives, governance standards, and technology requirements.
• Create data profiling methods, build profiles, identify insights, and review findings with project leaders, data stewards, analysts, and technical subject matter experts.
• Define and maintain data quality metrics, monitoring, dashboards, reporting, and remediation procedures for data assets.
• Document database columns, critical data elements, business definitions, technical metadata, lineage, and transformation logic.
• Identify PII and restricted data, data owners and stewards, and support retention practices based on data purging standards.
• Demonstrate governance tools, train business data stewards, and coordinate integrations, upgrades, testing, and issue resolution with vendors and Technology.

Requirements

• Ability to work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
• At least 5 years of data quality development experience and 3 years of data governance experience.
• Experience with data management tools such as Informatica, Collibra, or Purview.
• Proficient written and reading SQL skills, with experience using relational SQL databases such as Oracle and MS SQL.
• Strong understanding of data quality and governance frameworks, metric-driven governance, and regulated-environment requirements analysis.
• Strong communication, analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and small-project leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with data manipulation, data cleansing, data analysis, and data anomaly detection.
