What you will do
- Own the hardware product roadmap from next-generation requirements through delivery.
- Define and maintain prioritized functional specifications, interface definitions, and verification and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with mechanical, electrical, hardware engineering, and research teams to shape robot capabilities, including mobility, sensing, and dexterity.
- Translate field reliability data, hardware failures, sensor gaps, wear, and serviceability issues into requirements for future revisions.
- Drive the hardware release lifecycle from concept through design validation testing (DVT) and production readiness.
- Manage milestones, dependencies, risks, stakeholder alignment, and tradeoffs across capability, cost, timeline, and reliability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of product management experience, including meaningful ownership of hardware or physical products end to end.
- Direct experience shipping physical products from requirements through manufacturing and delivery.
- Strong technical intuition for hardware and the ability to work effectively with mechanical and electrical engineers.
- Experience with robotics or autonomous systems, including sensors, actuation, end-effectors, or mobile platforms.
- Experience deploying physical systems in customer environments and using field reliability data to guide product decisions.
- Ability to work across the hardware/software boundary and translate ambiguous goals into concrete, buildable requirements.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AI/ML systems and how model capabilities drive hardware requirements.
- Experience working on full-stack products that combine hardware and software.
