TL;DR
Engineer, BEV Function Integration and Calibration, Specialist (Automotive): Developing, integrating, and calibrating BEV and EREV powertrain drive-system functions for electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs with an accent on inverter calibration, off-road drivability, and software release readiness. Focus on coordinating function bring-up with suppliers, executing SiL, HiL, testbench, and vehicle validation, and solving complex integration challenges across hardware, software, vehicle dynamics, and E/E teams.

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Support the development, integration, and calibration of BEV and EREV powertrain and drive systems.
  • Coordinate drive-system function integration across internal engineering teams and software suppliers.
  • Lead inverter calibration for torque delivery, efficiency, thermal behavior, diagnostics, and drivability.
  • Own Scout-specific drive-function development and calibration from concept through series release.
  • Define function bring-up activities with software suppliers and provide onsite commissioning support.
  • Develop and execute validation across SiL, HiL, testbenches, prototypes, and vehicles, including data analysis, documentation, and release sign-off.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in powertrain or drive-system development, calibration, and validation for vehicle programs, preferably BEV or EREV.
  • Experience with function integration coordination and V-model development, including requirements, interfaces, test cases, validation, and software releases.
  • Hands-on experience developing, integrating, calibrating, and validating on-road or off-road drive-system functions on testbenches and vehicles.
  • Familiarity with ETAS INCA, MATLAB/Simulink, data-analysis environments, Simulink models, and C-based source code.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers in a global vehicle-development environment.
