TL;DR

CAE Analysis Engineer (Engine Performance & Calibration): Developing engine performance simulation and valvetrain analysis models using 1D virtual tools with an accent on model building, correlation, and evaluation. Focus on leveraging 1D modeling for hardware and calibration development to optimize performance and fuel efficiency.

Location: Hybrid (Pontiac or Warren, Michigan). Eligible for relocation to the USA.

What you will do

• Develop 1D engine simulation models in GT-POWER for gasoline and diesel architectures.
• Simulate full and part load models focusing on torque, power, and fuel consumption.
• Create Medium or Fast Running Models (MRM/FRM) to support controls development.
• Develop innovative analytical techniques for boost devices, EGR, and emission control systems.
• Provide component and system-level design recommendations based on analysis results.
• Contribute to automation tools using MATLAB and Python.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Michigan, USA.
• 3+ years of propulsion simulation and 5+ years of overall engineering experience.
• Fundamental understanding of combustion engines and GT-SUITE 1D CFD Software.
• Experience with engine dynamometer testing and data analysis.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
• 5+ years experience with GT-POWER, WAVE, or similar software.
• Experience with engine calibration and model-based calibration techniques.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, and AVL software.
