Calibration Engineer (Electrification Battery Systems)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, requiring attendance at the local office

What you will do

• Support electrification calibration of battery systems on GM vehicles and deliver calibrations for feature, diagnostic, and system robustness.
• Analyze data from driving maneuvers conducted in simulation, dyno, and vehicle environments, then tune system responses and identify required controls changes.
• Develop, optimize, review, and verify calibrations against performance and timing requirements.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, vehicle, system, and controls issues and support resolution of plant, laboratory, and customer problems.
• Coordinate calibration activities with the Lead Calibrator and Diagnostic Strategist, including planning resources and calibration standard work.
• Participate in controls groups, algorithm development, development trips, and related testing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Four years of experience as a Calibration Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or in a related role.
• Four years of experience with embedded controls, INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, Matlab, and Simulink.
• Four years of experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop systems, plus vehicle control system integration and debugging.
• Two years of experience with electrification propulsion system architectures, HV battery systems and controls, AutoVal, and electric vehicle on-board diagnostics.
• Must be able to report to the local Milford office three days per week.
