Forward Deployed Engineer (Systems Engineering)

Location: San Francisco (On-site)

Compensation: $165,000 – $230,000 OTE + Equity

What you will do

• Own the technical sales process, including custom demos and trial/POC execution.
• Analyze and map customer workflows to identify pain points and demonstrate tailored solutions.
• Conduct technical enablement workshops and training sessions for customers.
• Act as the bridge between customers and the internal engineering team to influence the product roadmap.
• Develop and define the technical GTM playbook, implementation guides, and training materials.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a hardware, mechanical, or systems engineering role.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including designing and operating services at scale.
• Proven experience managing customer relationships in pre-sales or post-sales engagements.
• Experience with engineering tools such as Jira, Confluence, PLM, MBSE, or legacy requirements tools.
• Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both engineers and executives.
• Builder mentality with a desire to define GTM motions from the ground up.

Nice to have

• Closing experience in a sales capacity.
• Industry experience in space, energy, robotics, or advanced manufacturing.
