Deployed Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, United States. The role involves travel to customer sites and hands-on work in lab and integration environments. U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 annual base salary, plus equity. The range excludes additional benefits.

What you will do

• Support delivery, integration, and customer adoption of virtual flatsats, bus emulators, EGSE test racks, and related software-enabled test tools.
• Serve as the primary technical software interface for customers across hirify.global vehicles and customer integration environments.
• Support compatibility between flight software, ground software, test tools, and customer systems.
• Troubleshoot software and system-level issues in customer labs, integration environments, and field deployments.
• Coordinate technical issue resolution with software, systems, avionics, and product engineering teams.
• Help define deployed engineering processes, documentation, escalation paths, and the operating model for customer deployments.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled data.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong software engineering experience building, debugging, integrating, or supporting software-enabled technical products.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical systems in lab, integration, production, field, or customer environments.
• Experience with Linux, Python, C/C++, networking, test automation, APIs, or similar technical tools.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerospace, spacecraft, satellites, avionics, ground systems, EGSE, or mission operations.
• Experience with virtual flatsats, bus emulators, EGSE test racks, hardware/software integration, system testing, or field deployment.
• Background in field applications engineering, solutions engineering, deployed engineering, systems engineering, or another customer-facing technical role.
• Familiarity with spacecraft bus architectures, flight and ground software, telemetry, command and control systems, or electrical ground support equipment.
• Interest in building a new technical function from the ground up.
