Release and Configuration Manager (Hardware)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $164,000 – $206,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end release process from engineering to production, ensuring drawings, BOMs, and specs are accurate and approved.
• Manage configuration and change control, including ECOs and ECNs across in-flight units, inventory, and supplier orders.
• Maintain BOM integrity across PLM, ERP, and MES systems to ensure as-designed, as-built, and as-maintained configurations remain in sync.
• Gate release readiness by verifying drawing completeness, tolerances, and DFM feedback before production.
• Communicate release schedules and change impacts across design, supply chain, quality, and production teams.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Austin, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle.
• Proven experience owning release or configuration management for serialized hardware products like modules, vehicles, or machinery.
• Deep expertise in administering ECOs across live production environments.
• Strong track record of maintaining BOM integrity and resolving discrepancies between design and manufacturing.
• Ability to work across disciplines to prevent and resolve as-designed vs. as-built issues.
• Experience catching immature releases, incomplete drawings, or missing requirements before they reach the production floor.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with PLM platforms (Arena, Teamcenter, Windchill).
• Experience with ERP and MES integration (NetSuite, SAP).
• Knowledge of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5.
• Background in manufacturing or quality engineering.
