TL;DR
Senior Technical Program Manager (Ocean Energy): Coordinating the development and deployment of ocean energy Nodes through R&D and pilot manufacturing with an accent on milestone scheduling, cross-functional alignment, and production scaling. Focus on managing configuration changes, coordinating suppliers and fabrication partners, and mitigating risks during integration and deployment.

Location: On-site in Portland, Oregon, United States. Hybrid candidates must travel for on-site work up to 25% of the time, potentially increasing to 50–75% during testing, integration, and deployment. Legal right to work in the United States required; new visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance to Portland may be provided.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Manage milestone schedules for the Ocean 3 program and communicate status, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and maintain program execution documentation and scaling tools.
  • Drive change management for Node configurations across R&D and pilot manufacturing.
  • Coordinate procurement, suppliers, and fabrication partners to support timely component delivery.
  • Coordinate Node integration and deployment operations in the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting product or process development through production, fabrication, or manufacturing.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams against aggressive program timelines.
  • Experience coordinating external suppliers and fabrication partners.
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and risk-management skills.
  • Ability to travel for site visits and partner engagements.

Nice to have

  • Hardware product development experience in startup or early-stage environments.
  • Understanding of integrated electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with PLM, MES, ERP, change management, and configuration control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with integration workflows or large mechanical systems.
