Senior Engineering Manager (Frontend)

Location: Gardena, California, United States

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and incentive plans.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of major web features from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release iteration.
• Build performant and accessible React/Next.js and TypeScript interfaces using SSR/SSG, analytics, and A/B testing.
• Design and implement reliable REST/GraphQL APIs and backend-for-frontend services with clear contracts, versioning, and observability.
• Drive performance, security, and reliability at scale through Core Web Vitals optimization, caching/CDN, rate limiting, monitoring, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and collaborate with Product and Design on incremental releases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience building and operating production web applications and services, including 3+ years leading technical delivery or architecture.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript programming skills and experience with Node.js or Java, HTTP, API design, and web security.
• Hands-on experience with React, Next.js, automated testing, CI/CD, Docker, and a major cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Redis caching, message queues, and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Professional working proficiency in Mandarin.
• Experience with Redux Toolkit, TanStack Query, WCAG, Jest or Vitest, Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience with NestJS, Express, Fastify, Spring Boot, Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS services, and infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of observability, OAuth2/OIDC, OWASP practices, secrets management, database query tuning, and CRM integrations such as SAP or Salesforce.
