Senior Gen AI Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within approved US states: CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, TX, UT, and WA. Preferred location is the Pacific Standard Time Zone. Quarterly in-person team gatherings are expected.

Salary: $211,000–$270,000 base annually, depending on location and experience, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own generative AI product capabilities from workflow discovery and prototyping through production rollout, measurement, and improvement.
• Build agentic workflows that reason over campaign, customer, creative, and performance data and use structured tools with appropriate human handoff.
• Design the data, tools, instructions, permissions, and interfaces required for grounded and dependable AI behavior.
• Build production reliability systems covering state management, failure recovery, evaluation, safeguards, and human review.
• Develop Python services and TypeScript and React interfaces for customer-facing AI products.
• Evaluate models, instrument quality and business impact, and mentor engineers on AI product practices.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience building and operating production software products across backend services, data, and user interfaces.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered or AI-assisted products beyond demos, including reliability, context, tool use, latency, cost, and changing model behavior.
• High proficiency in Python and working knowledge of TypeScript and React, with strong API design, data modeling, SQL, and testing fundamentals.
• Ability to define success criteria, investigate failures, and improve AI products using testing, feedback, and production signals.
• Must work remotely from one of the approved US states; quarterly in-person gatherings are expected.

Nice to have

• Experience as an early engineer, startup founder, or in another high-ownership environment.
• Experience with ad tech, campaign optimization, performance marketing, analytics products, or data-rich B2B software.
