Senior Cost and Project Accountant I (Aerospace)

Location: Based at hirify.global’s Solar Manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico; the role involves occasional exposure to production areas.

What you will do

• Manage project revenue and cost recognition for significant customer contracts.
• Update and reconcile customer contract backlog, contract assets, and contract liabilities.
• Track and reconcile inventory and prepare related journal entries.
• Support the estimate-at-completion cycle, project estimates, and revenue recognition.
• Review and interpret new contracts under ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Set up programs and charge codes, investigate accounting irregularities, document SOX-controlled processes, and lead process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience; alternatively, a high school diploma and 9+ years of work experience.
• Strong cost accounting experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong ERP systems knowledge and experience.
• Proven experience providing financial decision support.
• For U.S. office work, eligibility under U.S. Government ITAR export regulations is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
