Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, overhead, bills of materials, and product lines.
• Analyze purchase price, labor, overhead, usage, absorption, production volume, and standard-to-actual manufacturing variances.
• Perform monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation for raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods, including reconciliation to the general ledger.
• Partner with operations, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and finance leadership to improve cost accuracy, margin visibility, and profitability analysis.
• Prepare reporting tools, journal entries, schedules, and analyses supporting month-end and year-end close.
• Support inventory counts, cycle counting, audits, budgeting, forecasting, inventory controls, and compliance with Group IFRS inventory policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive cost or inventory accounting experience in a manufacturing business.
• Experience with standard cost updates, BOM and routing master data, inventory provisions, and inventory valuations.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, manufacturing accounting, and cost accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP or INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, complex formulas, cost models, and reconciliations.
• Ability to work regularly on the production floor with operators, supervisors, and engineers.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with an ERP system or QuickBooks.
• AI literacy for data analysis, reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement.
