Manager, Core Component Manufacturing (Nuclear)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States. The role includes 0–10% travel. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $168,316–$252,475 per year; the range is specific to Washington State.

What you will do

• Lead procurement and technical sourcing of safety-critical mechanical hardware for reactor cores, including structural components, internals, and custom assemblies.
• Translate reactor designs into procurement packages containing bills of materials, specifications, quality clauses, inspection requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop manufacturing procedures, supplier process specifications, inspection plans, and traceability documentation.
• Qualify suppliers, support RFQs and source selection, negotiate technical and commercial terms, and resolve nonconformances, deviations, substitutions, and corrective actions.
• Oversee fabrication and documentation for shipping packages used to transport Natrium assemblies.
• Build and mentor the manufacturing and procurement engineering organization while managing schedules, risks, metrics, and design-for-manufacturing improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or an equivalent field preferred.
• At least 9 years of relevant experience; relevant master’s and doctoral degrees may count toward up to two or four years of experience, respectively.
• At least 4 years of people-management experience or experience leading major cross-functional manufacturing projects.
• Strong writing, communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and demonstrate integrity, openness, respect, and teamwork.
• Must satisfy ANSI/ANS 3.1 qualification requirements and applicable education, experience, and nuclear-industry criteria. Export-control review may apply to foreign nationals.
