Head of Process Engineering

Salary: $170,000–$240,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams of nuclear, chemical, process, and mechanical engineers, designers, and supply chain specialists.
• Establish design processes, documentation standards, configuration management, and design review frameworks.
• Coordinate process engineering, mechanical design, facilities, construction, procurement, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee plant systems, layouts, detailed routing, analysis, and process equipment selection and procurement.
• Manage design readiness, technical risks, procurement timelines, construction sequencing, resource plans, and staffing strategies.
• Drive workflow optimization, tool integration, continuous improvement, and scalable engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial plant design, mechanical systems engineering, or related work.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, plant layout principles, industrial design standards, and documentation frameworks.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, including executive and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience with nuclear, chemical, petrochemical, or other high-complexity industrial projects.
• Familiarity with AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar plant design software.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and long-lead equipment management.
• Experience building high-performing teams and scaling engineering organizations.
