Technical Accounting & Policy Director (AI Infrastructure)

Location: London, UK; hybrid work arrangement.

Salary: £125,000–£160,000 per year, plus equity and a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Own and maintain the technical accounting positions register, prioritizing and closing open positions.
• Research and draft technical memos on significant transactions under US GAAP, including leases, revenue, equity compensation, acquisitions, consolidation, financing, and credit losses.
• Own, update, and roll out the group accounting policy suite as the business and accounting standards evolve.
• Review major colocation, capacity, financing, and equity contracts before signature and advise deal teams on accounting consequences.
• Lead technical discussions with external auditors, defend accounting positions, and close review points.
• Monitor new standards and SEC developments, support US GAAP-to-UK GAAP/statutory bridge decisions, and contribute to future F-1/20-F disclosures.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with ACA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
• Deep technical expertise in US GAAP and at least 8 years of experience in Big Four technical or audit work and/or in-house technical accounting at a complex multinational.
• Ability to write clear, well-structured technical memos and accounting policies; writing samples will be discussed.
• Strong command of several accounting areas, including ASC 842, ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 326, ASC 470/835, consolidation, and VIE analysis.
• Experience defending technical positions with auditors, ideally through a first-year or public-company audit.
• Hybrid work in London, UK is required.
