Location: Torrance, California, United States — full-time onsite, five days per week. Approximately 50% of the role involves travel to or work at remote test sites, primarily in the Mojave Desert and other locations outside Los Angeles.
Salary: $155,000–$200,000 annual base salary, plus potential stock options and company benefits.

is a vertically integrated space and defense company developing hardware for low-Earth-orbit missions, including satellite buses, in-orbit servicing robotics, and mission systems for U.S. national security applications.
What you will do
- Own the mechanical architecture and detailed design of interceptor structures, motor mounts, propulsion interfaces, avionics packaging, mechanisms, enclosures, fixtures, and ground-support equipment.
- Translate incomplete requirements, loads, environmental conditions, packaging constraints, and subsystem interfaces into practical mechanical designs.
- Lead hardware through CAD, drawings, design reviews, supplier coordination, fabrication, inspection, assembly, integration, testing, failure investigation, and redesign.
- Provide technical direction and design reviews to junior and mid-level engineers while improving manufacturability, documentation, and design quality.
- Work directly with machinists, technicians, suppliers, and test teams to resolve manufacturing, assembly, and integration issues.
- Plan and execute structural, environmental, propulsion-related, and vehicle-level tests, including field operations, troubleshooting, repair, and follow-on testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least five years of professional experience in rocketry, missiles, launch vehicles, propulsion, or a closely related aerospace field.
- Experience owning rocket or missile hardware from design through manufacturing, assembly, and test.
- Strong skills in 3D CAD, production drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, fastening methods, and design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Practical understanding of structural mechanics, load paths, vibration, shock, thermal effects, propulsion constraints, and mechanical design calculations.
- U.S. citizenship is required; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and may require eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.

- Experience leading complex hardware development or serving as a technical lead.
- Experience working with fabrication suppliers and test teams to solve hardware problems.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
